Pray for the Chapmans....

Steven Curtis Chapman, a well-known Christian recording artist, and his family have experienced an unbelievable tragedy. Their five year old daugher, Maria, was accidentally hit by the SUV her brother was driving. She died shortly after.

Maria had been adopted from China, and the Chapmans have an organization that aids families who wish to adopt by off-setting some of the cost. The Chapmans have three biological children, and 3 who were adopted. I went to Baylor with their oldest, Emily Chapman.

I can't imagine how Steven and his wife feel, but especially pray for the brother that accidentally hit Maria. I feel led to pray specifically for his healing emotionally. I literally can't imagine feeling the responsibility for this tragedy. They haven't named which brother it was, so let's just pray for Maria's brother.

I usually don't post sad news, but as members of the Christian family, we need to lift the Chapmans up to the Lord. Join me in prayer for them!

I've just finished googling every news article I could fine. This breaks my heart. I can't imagine...every parents nightmare. I also have prayed for the brother that accidently hit her...I can't imagine what pain he is in. I read where it was her engagement party they were having and that one of the boys were graduating that night and that Maria's birthday was 10 days ago. What a week for them.
This is aging me...but when I was in college he was there with jsut one or two babies and I was one of the babysitters!

I read this on another site this morning. Absolutely devastating. I just can't imagine what that family is going through. They will definitely be in my thoughts. :(

My best friend called me this morning to tell me the sad news. Oh how hard this must be for them. I can't imagine. No, I don't want to imagine. It breaks my heart. I have friends, who received help from their organization in their adoption process. They brought home their son from Guatemala in December. I will say a prayer for them, especially for Steven and his wife. I pray that our Lord will comfort their hearts, and help them even through their pain to know how to draw their family closer together and help their son. I hope that in the midst of this time of grief, He will give them the strength to not lay blame, and to help him feel secure by their love. Oh Father, keep your hand over this family. Blessings!

My heart is just in pieces over this.

In our church a little over a year ago, a father accidentally hit and killed the youngest of 5. It's just so tragic.

I too have felt a burden to pray for the brother. I can't imagine what he's going through right now.
