101 in 1001

I was challenged by Kristal to create 101 goals for myself to be completed in 1001 days (that's about 2.75 years). This was challenging, because our lives are going to drastically change in the next few months and years. We will be having a baby, Kurt will complete residency, and we'll be moving to Cape Girardeau, to name a few! For this reason, I tried to set realistic goals for myself. Some of these I will accomplish, and some will show that I'm very human! Worth noting: some of my goals are borrowed from Kristal (she did a great job!). Go look at her blog to see what her list is. I really appreciate the idea!

Here are my 101 in 1001:

Begin Date: August 21, 2008
End Date: May 19, 2011

I will put a link to this post on the side of my page and will continually update it:

Italics: Started/In progress

Strikethrough: Completed

Normal: Haven't started

Note: Since having the baby, it's difficult for me to update daily/weekly tasks. I will give an update on how I'm doing with different goals, but there are some I just can't keep accurate numbers on! This will make me less stressed out and more able to focus on the goal itself....not keeping track of it religiously!

Stay Tuned!

Wow! I can tell you put a lot of thought into this list and I love some of your goals, like your "cross wall." Hugh and I have been talking about our future home and I told him it's very important to me to have a guest bed and bath room. I want our home to always comfortable and ready to entertain family and friends that come to visit,#86. I need to get back to doing #76. My family used to do this every year, until we started Operation Christmas Child. But, eventually, we can do both. Also, about #59...I sooo want to do this. Hugh may be letting me and the children stay an extra 2 weeks to visit, and Demetria said we could go for a day trip, because that will be right in the middle of their fall pilgrimmage. Maybe, you could come along. -Oh, thanks for your sweet comments on my new picture post. I did it so fast, I just realized how many spelling errors I made. I need to go back and correct that. But, we have had a blast this summer! We try to make days "daddy" has off special in some way. It really helps since Trey is going through a real hard time with seperation anxiety when Hugh goes to work. This is mainly b/c his schedule is never consistant and Trey needs that in this stage, so we just roll with it and make it work as best we can. I tell the babies everyday how important daddy's job is and how he helps people who are sick and hurt. This really helps, and Trey will say now how he wants to help the people too. PRECIOUS! Any way, it's going to be a wild and crazy ride, but you will love it. ~Blessings!

I think this is fantastic!

Once my kids were born, goals kinda went out the window...I should definitely rethink that!

I look forward to seeing your progress!!

This is great. I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see your progress. I think you are going to have a great time checking things off.

I don't think I have the time or energy to start such an extensive list right now but maybe I will start with a few things. I love your idea of praying for your marriage and spouse while making the bed. I will start that tomorrow morning along with praying for the boys while I make their beds- Thanks.

I love this list!

You will love the Pilgrimage. Shawn and I went for our 1 year anniversary. It was a great thing for us to do as a couple. We also stopped at a few sites on the Trace. Two great places to eat: Kings Inn (old historical tavern) and the Carriage House Restaurant (in a real carriage house!).

Here are some free things to do in Jackson: visit the Governor's House, Manship House, and New Capital.

Here's how to use strikethrough: Go to the edit html mode. Type in this code: (left side arrow here)strike(right side arrow here)YOUR TEXT GOES HERE(left side arrow here)/strike(right side arrow here). I tried to type in the direct code, but blogger wouldn't let me.

I would also love to help you organize anytime!

I realized after posting how confusing the strkethrough code would be to you. You really have to look at the exact code. Go to this website. You have to scroll down a bit:

That's an awesome list! I think praying for your marriage while making the bed everyday is a geat idea! I'm going to start doing that. As for a nice maternity outfit that isn't cheap, you should look at Tummies. I've only been there once, but they had really cute stuff and they were not cheap! :) I am going to do the 6 random facts! I just haven't gotten a chance to blog yet.

This is very interesting! I applaud you for doing this. I however could never do this cause it's hard for me to get 5 things on a list done... let alone 101... and especially now that I have a baby. But I will say I am inspired by you and #54 on your list- I love that! Something I struggle with is praying every day AND making my bed. I desperately want to pray daily for my family, my husband and child. Thank you for this and inspiring me!

Wow Ashley! I am so impressed with the things you are doing in your life. I have just learned so much about you! Just wanted you to know that I pray for your family everyday as I pray for my own! But what an inspiration your blog is and of all the days that I stumbled upon it, God led me here to order a canvas and kept me here to learn more about you. No wonder your parents are so proud of you!

I think you should work on #43 soon! Then, we could meet!:)

Have I told you Brody goes to MDO at UBC? And my mom works in the office? I couldn't remember. I knew your Grandpa was the pastor there for a long time. :)

You have quite a few done on your list. Maybe you shouldn't make it in so many days and make it your life's list. Less pressure that way.

I found your blog through the Kelly's Korner link and I love your idea of 101 in 1001. There are a lot of things on your list that could easily be on mine, too! Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year!
