A Little Boost

Well, today has been pretty slow. Kurt came in from being on call around 8 this morning and crashed in bed. I woke up awhile later (okay, a LOT later) and he didn't emerge until around 1 or 1:30. Working every other night on call has been killing his body clock. Thankfully, September has fewer nights of call, but they are almost ALL on Sundays! :o( He left around 2:30 to head to the hospital again. He works so hard!

Tomorrow morning we have a doctors' appointment! I'll be almost 16 weeks. This is the one time I REALLY want them to do a sonogram since Kurt only got to see the very first one. They've done a sonogram every visit (nothing has been wrong....they've just done them for some reason). If they all of a sudden don't do one, I think I'm going to request, just for Kurt's sake. I love seeing them too!

Tomorrow night is the women's ministry event at church that I'm helping with. I'll be setting up my candy buffet and helping out with registration, etc. It's a Pajama Party theme, including pizza, salad, and ice cream sundaes...a pregnant person's dream! :o)

Speaking of being pregnant, I had an interesting experience the other night. I was reading someone's blog about the recent birth of their first child. She did a lot of things naturally (meaning no epidural, etc.), which I don't plan on doing (bring on that RELIEF!), but as I was reading, something in me changed. I suddenly became thoroughly enamored and enchanted with the concept of being pregnant and having a baby.

Don't get me wrong....I wasn't ever resentful or negative about expecting...I just hadn't had my "moment" yet where I was completely at peace, happy, and somewhat confident that I can bring a child into the world and do a relatively good job raising him or her. I also know that feeling the baby move for the first time will be a huge moment for me. So anyway, it just felt nice to have a boost of excitement.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow!

It's Official.....

We're going to Disney World!!!!!!

I got our tickets in the mail last week, and just got confirmation that we will be staying here:

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! A special thanks to Ashley Clegg for her help. This will especially be nice, because the monorail system has a stop right at the hotel, and it's literally minutes away from the Magic Kingdom, my favorite park. This was a luxury that we didn't expect, so we feel beyond blessed and excited!

I've booked our dining! Here's the schedule:

Sunday: Arrive in the morning (we will drive all day Saturday and drive into Orlando Sunday morning) and spend time in Downtown Disney or one of the parks (not quite sure yet!)

Monday: Magic Kingdom!

-We will eat a quick lunch at Pinnochio's Village Haus (oddly, one of my favorite places).

-Then we will have dinner in the castle at Cinderella's Royal Table! Normally we would do this on our last night, but this was the only night they had availability, so I grabbed it.

Tuesday: Epcot!
-We will eat lunch at Chefs de France (I've never eaten there!)

-For dinner, it's Tutto Italia (a new place for me).
Wednesday: Disney Hollywood Studios!

-Lunch will be at the 50's Prime Time Cafe:

-And dinner will be at the Brown Derby (I haven't eaten here before either)

Thursday: Free day to switch between parks.
-For breakfast, we'll eat in our hotel, at 1900 Park Fare.

-And we'll be at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner.
Overall, I think it will be the perfect "babymoon" (as I've seen trips like this called). I have a huge weight off my shoulders now that everything is booked and in place. Of course, with me being the worrier that I am, I'm always wanting to confirm and re-confirm everything, but I guess this is where I need to relax.
I'm so glad everything is in place for a wonderful trip!

Our Story Through the Years....

Happy in 1950....

1952....

1954....

1956.....

1958....

1960....

1962...Kurt looking handsome, as always.

1964....Kurt and I were taking a break.

Back together in 1966....

1968....

Looking great in 1970....

Still going strong in '72....

Living on Love in 1974....

1976....

Kurt wanted to play the field in '78....

...And in '80.....

....And he was still playing the field in '82.

Tried to get back together with me in '84, but I said no.

So by 1988, Kurt was living single and missing me really badly....

...Which led us to get back together in 1990.

1992.....

1994....

I went blonde in 1996...

Kurt put on a few pounds in '98....

But lost it just in time for Y2K in 2000!

And we started living happily ever after in 2007!
