Kelly's Home Tour---Kitchen Edition

Kelly is hosting a home tour on Fridays! I lovelovelove seeing the interiors of where people live, so this is very exciting. This week everyone is showing their kitchens. So here is the kitchen of Chateau Lancaster:
This is the overall view. When we moved in, we changed out the knobs and countertops.

This is my vintage 1950's mixer (not a replica--it's really from the 1950's!) that I bought in an antique store. It really works!

This is the letter my Dad wrote me when I went off to college. It's framed so it will always be safe. I love it!

This is my fridge. I go back and forth between a no-clutter-on-the-fridge person and a pictures-on-the-fridge person. Right now I love my pictures as long as they are organized-looking! One of these days I'll do a post where I show some fun pictures that are on my fridge.

These are my Disney pieces that my Nana gave me. Since I'm in the kitchen frequently (even if it's just walking through), I like having them close by. In our next house, our theater (yes, Kurt is insisting on a home theater) will be Disney-themed. In my opinion, a movie room is a great excuse for a theme room!

This is the view into the dining area from the kitchen. We don't have an official dining room, so I'm combining it with the kitchen. We usually eat in the living room (no apologies) because Evy's not old enough to pick up on the fact that we're vegging out and being lazy in front of the TV and not eating at a proper table :o) But I do love this little area. I got my mid-century style clock from Target, and we updated the chandelier. The seat cushions came from Marshall's.
The view from the living room:
I got this artwork from an antique store. I rarely commit to art easily: I can NEVER decide what I want! But I saw this in an old beat-up frame and loved it's colors, mid-century painting style, and it features a castle. LOVE. I got it re-framed and I'm so glad I decided to buy it.

This is another view of the Happy Little Corner I recently posted about. This gives a better view of the crown and framed picture of Evy---it's me holding her little feet with our wedding rings on her toes :o) My Nana gave me the corner table, and it's perfect because we wouldn't have room for anything bigger.

On the other shelves of the table, I have another Disney figure (I'm very careful with how I use figurines...it's a fine line between pulling it off well and it looking like a cluttered collection). On the bottom shelf is where I have an Annieglass bowl. I put all of the Christmas cards we receive here and I like to look at them throughout the year.

Finally, this is another 1950's chair that sits next to the dining area. The color ended up coordinating perfectly with the artwork.
I'll say this probably at the end of every room I give a tour of: my taste is ALWAYS changing! I think we're going to end up with a very eclectic house. I hope you enjoyed my little kitchen. Pictures of the visit with Mimi, Dah, and Daddy coming soon!
By the way, if you're visiting for the first time and like what you see, I'd love for you to follow my blog! I love having/meeting new readers. Thanks for visiting! :o)

Ha! Kelly wants a home theater room in our house someday, too! Considering we still have a box t.v. with no plans to upgrade soon, I think we have a long way to go ;) Cute pics!

Seeing all the kitchens has been so much fun. I love your '50's mixer. And your eclectic taste, if everything is the same its just dull. I strive to have a home that is always changing. I also go through phases with my refrigerator being covered with things and not. Love the glimpse in your house.

Tell your husband the end result of all his schooling will be so worth it! I am a nurse and I work very closely with 4 anesthesologists, I always say that if you are going to be a Dr, that is the kind to pick!

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Your baby girl is precious! Being a mom is the best, huh? It's challenging, but worth every minute. It's so hard for me to remember what life was like before Bradyn. I love your kitchen btw. I love your style. =) My husband and I have moved a lot as well. Just from KY to MO and then finally settling in East TN. I'm NEVER moving again. LOL It's awesome to finally find a place and settle there. Anyways, thanks for reading my blog and I enjoy reading yours as well. Happy Sunday!

Love that painting! For some reason it reminds me of the white castle in Sleeping Beauty. I have a six month old... Isn't being a mommy the best?

Thanks for stopping by my blog and actually commenting! Your kitchen is so fun with all the special touches but I esp. love the letter from your dad. How sweet and what a great way to make sure it is safe. Stop back by any time. Would love to have you.

PS Beautiful pictures on your latest post! Congrats on the little one.

Thanks for stopping by my kitchen. What a sweet thing that you have a note from your dad by the sink so you can look at often. I like the height and lamp above your sink. My poor husband can't completely see into the sink because our cabinets are in the way. Good thing he doesn't use that as an excuse to not wash dishes.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and kitchen and also for the tour of yours. I'm joining you in prayer for Noah and will be checking back on him. Prayer is a powerful thing!

You had asked about my table and chairs and I wanted to let you know that they came from Ashley Furniture.

Have a blessed week!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love your kitchen. I like how you have those sentimental objects mixed in too. It does make a lot of sense to keep them in the kitchen because we spend so much time there. I'm always going back and forth between the clutter-free or the picture covered fridges. Thanks for sharing!
