This is the overall view. When we moved in, we changed out the knobs and countertops.
This is my vintage 1950's mixer (not a replica--it's really from the 1950's!) that I bought in an antique store. It really works!
This is the letter my Dad wrote me when I went off to college. It's framed so it will always be safe. I love it!
This is my fridge. I go back and forth between a no-clutter-on-the-fridge person and a pictures-on-the-fridge person. Right now I love my pictures as long as they are organized-looking! One of these days I'll do a post where I show some fun pictures that are on my fridge.
These are my Disney pieces that my Nana gave me. Since I'm in the kitchen frequently (even if it's just walking through), I like having them close by. In our next house, our theater (yes, Kurt is insisting on a home theater) will be Disney-themed. In my opinion, a movie room is a great excuse for a theme room!
This is the view into the dining area from the kitchen. We don't have an official dining room, so I'm combining it with the kitchen. We usually eat in the living room (no apologies) because Evy's not old enough to pick up on the fact that we're vegging out and being lazy in front of the TV and not eating at a proper table :o) But I do love this little area. I got my mid-century style clock from Target, and we updated the chandelier. The seat cushions came from Marshall's.The view from the living room:
I got this artwork from an antique store. I rarely commit to art easily: I can NEVER decide what I want! But I saw this in an old beat-up frame and loved it's colors, mid-century painting style, and it features a castle. LOVE. I got it re-framed and I'm so glad I decided to buy it.
This is another view of the Happy Little Corner I recently posted about. This gives a better view of the crown and framed picture of Evy---it's me holding her little feet with our wedding rings on her toes :o) My Nana gave me the corner table, and it's perfect because we wouldn't have room for anything bigger.
On the other shelves of the table, I have another Disney figure (I'm very careful with how I use figurines...it's a fine line between pulling it off well and it looking like a cluttered collection). On the bottom shelf is where I have an Annieglass bowl. I put all of the Christmas cards we receive here and I like to look at them throughout the year.
Finally, this is another 1950's chair that sits next to the dining area. The color ended up coordinating perfectly with the artwork.
I'll say this probably at the end of every room I give a tour of: my taste is ALWAYS changing! I think we're going to end up with a very eclectic house. I hope you enjoyed my little kitchen. Pictures of the visit with Mimi, Dah, and Daddy coming soon!
By the way, if you're visiting for the first time and like what you see, I'd love for you to follow my blog! I love having/meeting new readers. Thanks for visiting! :o)
