Meeting Lawrence and Rice Cereal

Before I do my huge Texas post, I wanted to do a smaller one. Really random, but here we go:

Before I forget, here's a little housekeeping. Someone asked me where my MIL got the fabric for the nursery. CLICK HERE for the link.

Just wanted to do a quick comparison:

Speaking of Gerber, we tried a little rice cereal with Evy for the first time this evening, and she was kind of bored by it. However, I don't think I timed it right because she was wanting to eat, and I think she just got irritated that I was offering what she didn't want! Haha! I think she likes it, but we'll take it slow.

Tonight, Evy watched one of my favorite TV shows ever, Lawrence Welk. I was raised on this show, and Evy will be too. It was a hit! She laughed and laughed when I made her dance to a polka by Myron Floren. Only my family will know who Myron Floren is.

We are still getting back into the swing of things around here. I'm still unpacking and getting everything put away. I think I'm almost caught up on laundry. That's actually a chore I don't mind, because there's not a lot of effort involved! I need to get started on the Texas blog post...it's going to be a big one with lots of uploading and my computer is slow--ugh! But I want it documented and I'll be glad that I recorded the pictures and memories. So stay tuned!

I actually know who Myron Floren is because I, too, grew up watching Lawrence Welk. Every Saturday night with my grandparents( in the '70's :] ) My oldest little girl loves to watch now too.
Found your blog through Kelly's Korner and love reading it. We have a new baby girl too and I like reading how other mom's are adjusting!

My mind has been taken over by lists lately...sorry to monopolize your comments section:
#1. Happy late birthday and anniversary
#2. I think Lawrence Welk, like Little House, may be one of the only safe bets left for Evy to watch
#3. I need to you to give me your best "long trip" advice. We're going to Charleston (12 hrs) with AP next month and I'm a little nervous! Thanks!

P.S. I have a feeling the first thing you're going to say about #3 is "Throw your BW book out the window and comfort/rock/swing/nurse your baby whenever you want"; lol
