Quick Clarification...

Just wanted to clarify because people have been asking me through email and facebook: we are not officially moving until next year, but we are just in the very early stages of packing up excess things that we won't need until we're in our new house.

Also, for those of you that don't know, my family lives in Missouri where we will be moving. They moved from Mississippi about a year ago. Kurt's family lives here in Mississippi, but about 3 1/2 hours away. When we move to Cape Girardeau, they'll be the exact same distance away. So we're moving closer to family, which is such a blessing! My heart is first of all where Kurt and Evy are, and secondly where any members of my family are. Honestly, a piece of my heart has been gone since my family moved. Although it's been wonderful (I repeat, wonderful!) being with just Kurt and Evy, I miss them so much. I'm ready to move. No offense to anyone reading this, but I just don't consider the South my home.

If you're relatively new, I'll catch you up: My family used to live in Cape Girardeau, Missouri from 1994-2000ish (from when I was 8-14). Then we moved to Mississippi. Kurt also finished medical school in Cape Girardeau, so he was already familiar with the area (we never lived there at the same time, nor knew each other). When Kurt and I were praying about where to move after residency, we felt led towards either Tupelo, MS (to be close to his parents) or Cape Girardeau (to be close to mine). Both cities met the criteria that we had set. We pursued both, and God clearly opened the door to Cape Girardeau (literally, Tupelo was nowhere ready to offer a contract because of timing). This was all before my family was called back to Missouri for my dad to pastor our former church. So although living in the same city as my family will surely be a great thing, we are NOT moving there solely for that reason.

Anyway, just wanted to clarify the timing and where my family lives. I've had questions about both! :o)

Pictures will still be coming!---

I have been working feverishly on my 101 in 1001 list and I just can't seem to find 101 thing! I like how you organized your items into categories and so I've checked your list a lot today to copy it. ::blush:: Hope you don't mind my using your format! Thanks for the inspiration, though! :-)

I think it is so amazing how God orchestrated for both you and Kurt to have previously lived in Cape Girardeau at different times and under different circumstances. So special! :)

What a blessing that you were led to the same city/town as your family. Sounds like a perfect plan to me, and these things always tend to work out as they should. We're going through something similar right now, and I am eagerly awaiting the final resolution, if you will. We are feeling led, absolutely by God, to a certain place at the moment...but we're still walking towards that place. We're not there yet, so it still feels as though He might change his mind. We'll see. I am excited for you all!

My cousin is a urologist in Cape! I'm not sure how big that town is (never actually been there), but maybe your husband and my cousin will cross paths sometime! Ha! :)

That's so funny you posted this, because we too are also "pre-packing," and getting rid of stuff. And we also have a similar story with offers. G-town jumped with an offer. They wanted to sign us before anyone else could. Where as other places wanted to talk details closer to time. Money isn't everything, but, when you pray for a clear cut sign and then a place offers to start paying you a sign-on bonus now in order to secure you, it helps. It covered what I was making before I left to stay home with the kids and so that in itself not only helped for me to remain at home, but it made it more comfortable. And it's nice when a place wants you that much. I mean I'm already proud of Hugh, but, I'm proud for him too. Ya know? Thank you for your prayers and sweet words. Honestly, I'm not sure if this is what -the real problem is, but, we will see. That's partly why I'm asking for prayer. I just have a gut feeling this isn't over, or this isn't the root of the problem, if that makes sense. Any way ~thanks! Blessings!

I started reading your blog because you mentioned Cape--I have a lot of family there, have lived there myself--even graduated from SEMO. I was just there this past week, as a matter of fact. My family is very active at Cape First church--and have the Broadside Adventures tv show that airs on the local Fox affiliate. Anyway--it's always fun to find someone from home. (I live in MS right now, too--Columbus!)
You have a lovely family.
