"Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar welcomed baby 19 earlier than expected on Thursday, December 10, at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Michelle, who has been in the hospital recovering from a gallstone, was taken to the OR for an emergency c-section. Daughter Josie Brooklyn was born at 6:27 p.m. weighing 1lb., 6 oz.
Michelle is resting comfortably and baby is stable and in the NICU for extended care. The most important thing right now is for Mom and baby Josie to get as much rest as possible. The family is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes during their recovery.
Apparently the baby was 1 lb. 6 oz.! I do have a feeling that Jim Bob and Michelle will probably decide that this is their last child. At least, I would. I'm going to do a post soon about my thoughts on this family, and you know that I completely admire and defend them. However, I do believe that they would have enough discernment to recognize that perhaps this is God's way of closing the door to having children. Just my thoughts!
Again, I'm so glad that both Michelle and Josie are doing well!
P.S. I just can't help it, but all I can think about now is Josie Pye from Anne of Green Gables:
Anne: "But you're so fortunate, Josie. The only thing you've ever had to wear twice is a sour expression."
But I am sure that little Josie Brooklyn won't have that many sour expressions! :)

wow. i cant imagine a baby that tiny.
i am with you, i hope they do not have any more. i love and admire them tremendously, but at the same time worry about future children, their health and michelle's health. isn't that funny how connected i feel to them even though i have never met them!?!

From what I hear around town, baby Josie is doing pretty good given the circumstances...so that's a huge praise to God!
I don't know anything about the Duggars (other than their # of children), but LOL @ your Anne quote. haha

I too love musical theatre, and was in drama for 5 years in middle school and high school, and I'm from Texas, too. When you quoted Anne of Green Gables in this post, I just had to comment after being just a quiet reader for awhile now. I love that mini series so much! Keep up the awesome blogging. Evy is so cute!

Goodness - that is scary! I cannot imagine everything her poor body has gone through - just having one baby did a number on my body. Pregnancy is diffucult on your body and I am not just referring to appearance. That's the least of it!
