I would have to say that one of my very favorite things in life are Christmas cards. I love them. Christmas is the one time of year when most people revert back to the age-old concept of sending mail. It's wonderful!
Since I was a baby, my mom sent out a picture Christmas card and a letter recapping the year. I should've written this in my Christmas Traditions post, but it's so second-nature to me I guess I forgot about it! From our first Christmas as a married couple until I die, I will send out a photo Christmas card and letter. I would feel weird not sending out a letter along with the card. It makes it more personal. I wish more people wrote Christmas letters. I get giddy when I open a card and there's something to read. So, why not write a letter to go along with your Christmas cards? It'll make at least one person happy (that would be me). Obviously, I love getting cards regardless of if there's reading material or not!
I wish I could send out five million Christmas cards just so I'd get 5 million in return, but that's just not in the budget. However, if you have one to spare, I'd love to see it!
:)
I'll be mailing my Christmas cards on Monday, so by the end of next week I'll have my post up featuring our card and our letter. Eeeeee I love Christmas. I love cards. I love Christmas cards.
Do you send out Christmas cards? Is it important to you or just "one more thing?"
P.S. I am definitely going to get my Thanksgiving pictures up soon. I took a lot of pictures and I'm wading through them! :)

Christmas cards are my absolute favorite thing about Christmas. I skip to the mailbox every single day in December. Seriously - the mail lady (we have a lady) probably thinks I'm crazy because I watch for her!
And I'm so excited to get your card!!!!
P.S. I thought about sending out a letter but then I realized every single person getting our card reads my blog so they already know every single detail of our year. ha!
I love doing christmas cards, I love sending them and getting them, they are so much fun!!!
I will post mine up soon!!!
Cannot wait to see yours
Ahh, love "snail" mail. Have I told you that our girls should be pen pals--go ahead and write it into your home-school curriculum!
I LOVE letters, too. Some of our friends send a Christmas card that has the letter on the inside of the card. I thought we were going to do that for sure but I didn't find any that I just loved and they were kind of overpriced, anyway.
I thought about just typing a letter and sending it with the card; some of my parents friends do that. Haven't really decided. Is that what y'all do? What do you think?
Major tradition in our family!! We are so disappointed if my dad doesn't write a letter - he has a really dry sense of humor which always makes for a hilarious commentary on what has happened in our family's lives during the past year. The only year he didn't write a letter was the December when my uncle (his older brother) was diagnosed with brain cancer - hard Christmas season for our family. I just put together and ordered our photo Christmas card today from a new company called Pinhole Press and I'm so excited to see how they turned out!!! Yay!!! :) Can't wait to see your cards.
I do love Christmas cards, but they aren't a huge deal to me. I usually send them out every year, but I'm not this year. We've been so crazy busy this past month and will continue to be until the end of the year, so they were sorta starting to become "just one more thing" so I decided to just skip 'em this year.
I love, love, love getting letters AND a picture!!! In fact, my mom still saves all the letters and pictures she gets just for me...I love that! Funny enough, I don't even know the people sometimes, but heck, I don't care. It's so much fun!
I only send a picture as a postcard, however...I cut our cost from $75 down to $15 by doing it this way.
i love christmas cards too!!! we just had our family picture made today as a matter of fact. my favorite thing is designing my family's card each year. my friend once told me that they also keep all of their christmas cards and each week after christmas, they pull out a card from the stack and pray for that family that week. kindof neat!
I LOVE getting cards too! It's my favorite part of the Christmas season. We always send out a card with a picture but no letter.
I have been thinking about writing a letter this year although everyone I will be sending a letter to reads my blog or talks to me weekly so they know already... I am still thinking about it doing it because I am like you and love recieving letters!
I love, love Christmas cards....http://grammyababychangeseverything.blogspot.com/

I started the tradition of sending out a picture card and a letter with it when we got married. I'm so glad I did, because I've kept a copy of each one and it's been fun each year to look back at the past ones to remind myself what happened during those years. I hope this is something I'm able to keep it up...I was actually surprised I've managed to do three without missing a year! Glad to know someone else out there does a letter as well, as I feel like the letter portion is something that is unfortunately becoming an outdated tradition.
