Totally random: Lent is here. We do not participate (for several reasons), but I've read a lot where this is the time for it. I don't want to offend anyone, so I won't go into why we don't observe this season, but apparently from what I can gather you give up something for 40 days. It's funny, because right around the time Lent started, I began reading the book "So Long, Insecurity" by Beth Moore. It. Is. Incredible. I'm about halfway done, and I can't wait to share with you so many things after I finish. Even though it has nothing to do with Lent, I'm working on giving up insecurity and its hold on me. I will be sharing about that soon.
I am SO EXCITED to find out what the gender of my sweet friend Carrie's baby is this week! Oh my gosh I can hardly stand it. I'm guessing a girl. This is crazy, but I've ALWAYS been right about predicting what someone is carrying! I don't want to jinx myself, but we'll see! One of my favorite things in the world is talking about baby names. I love to see what a couple decides to name their child--it's so personal and special. YOU are deciding the name that will be attached to a human being their entire life! Isn't that incredible!? Note: I AM NOT PREGNANT. Also, Kurt and I already have a pretty good list together of ones we like. However, just for fun:
What are your favorite baby names for boys and girls? I'm dying to know!
I'll post pictures of our weekend soon!

Ohhh, I can't wait until you're pregnant again, though! You do make the cutesy babies EVER!
Names I fancy:
Zeke
Eli
Blythe
Gwyneth (what River would have been named should he have been born a girl!)
Fiona
Those are the few I can think of right now. I'm essay better picking out girl names than boy names.
Great post!
oh my gosh....baby names are one of my absolute favorite things....kind of like a hobby - ha!
If we have another girl we are probably going to name her Larsen James...I loved the name Lexi, but Jeffrey said she would be called "sexy lexi" so that ended that....
and for a boy I love the names Payne and Tate. I am always trying to find different names, because after being a teacher it is REALLY hard to not attach a certain name with a certain child! :)
Oh my gosh! I LOVE baby names! My husband gets tired of talking about names because I talk about them all the time!
Boys: Bennett, Collier, & Milam (for non southern people you say it my-lum)
Girls: Emmeline, Eden, Adelaide
(I have such a tough time finding girls names that I like!)
Girls: Kennedy, Audrey, Olivia
Boys: Cooper James & Riley Scott
We had a couples wedding shower, 2 actually and they are so fun!
Ashley-
I love reading your blog! We have 4 beautiful daughters and they are named: Ondrianna (Pronounced Andreeauna), Payge, Sera (pronounced Sara), and Josalynne. We are also expecting # 5. If it is another girl we are thinking Annaleigh. If we are blessed with a boy then we are leaning towards Gunner.
We have a LIST of names we love, which include:
Kadance, Bryleigh, Wesleigh Ann, Ezekial, Zekeriah, to name a few.
Before Isaac was born, we like Elijah, Isaiah, and Isaac for a boy. Chad decided he liked Isaac best once the baby was born, so that was his name!
And if Isaac would have been a girl (like I thought!), her name would have been Vivienne Leigh, thanks to your suggestion. :)
My husband and I are so very traditional - we border on boring perhaps! Our children are Jack (John Monroe) and Abby (Abigail Anne). Our list still includes Nathaniel, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Julia and that's about it - that's definetly more names than kids we have planned!
I thought of a name for a girl that I think is precious, but David isn't going for it :( I'll tell you in person!
ok - you know that we are done having kids, but here are the names and why we chose them...
-mary peyton (obviously - ha - this is after my aunt mary rose and my little cousin mary key. tommy just liked the name peyton even though most people think it's after peyton manning...it's really more from "one tree hill". don't judge...)
-john thomas (john is my daddy's name and being an only child, i wanted to carry on his name in some way. thomas is tommy's name and was also his grandfather and great-grandfather)
-ann carlton or andrew carlton (we chose this name for a girl or boy. ann is from MANY places - my name, my mom, roseann (after my mom), my best friend - jillian ann, my old roommate - carrie ann, my great-grandmother - maggie ann, an aunt - venie ann, tommy's aunt - martha ann. carlton is tommy's middle name)
**side note: there are times that i kinda wish we would have considered mary thomas after tommy...oh well! maybe mpb will use that one!**
sorry for being so long winded! love you, sweet friend!
I would be very intersted to hear your reasons for not doing Lent - just curious.
I love the name Eli for a little boy, or Addison for a girl.
Since we'll find out what we're having in next week, we;ve been talking about baby names alot lately.
Girls: Allison Margurite (Margurite after my grandma) with the nickname Allie
Aurora Anne (Ann after MIL, but spelled with an E for Anne of Green Gables) with the nickname Rory
Boys: Logan Curtis
I love Olin. It's such a strong, Scandinavian man name, but it's supercute for a little boy, too.
For a girl, I like Lucia.
I have a running list! We always had 1 girl name and 1 boy name...Then when aubrie kate came we had no clue on what to name her! So preparing for another baby (in the future) we have a running list of names
Landyn, Hatley, Tenly, Annabelle, Macy, Brody, hudson, cole, kiptyn, sawyer, patrick, Reece, Charlotte, Marissa,....and on and on and on
Oh, gosh, what a fun question! If the next one is a boy I'm pretty sure it will be Jackson (Jack). If it's a girl, I have no idea. Probably a double name, though. Maybe "Sarah (something)".....Sarah Beatrice (Sarah Bea)? Sarah Mayfield (Sally May)? I don't know. I also like Vada; it's a family name and it reminds me of "My Girl"; ha!
Who knows?
Very interesting lent post. I agree with your interpretation of it! As a new Methodist (I grew up Baptist, went Methodist went I got married), lent is sort of new to me too. Gives you something to think about!
And, hopefully, you'll be reading about Jackson or Emma in a year or so. :)
Oh I love baby names!! I love talking about them & thinking about them too!! We named our daughter Emma, after my husbands Grandmother who passed away way to soon.
Our favorites for future children are Hudson & Addison (Addie). I like others but Josh isnt convinced...yet ;)
Have a great week girl!!
Girls: Celia Rose (my daughter's name), Fiona, Emma
Boys: Warren (a family name), John (also family name), Charlie
Mckinlee
Adalynn
Gracelynn
Noah
Micah
Jonas
Our names are: Jacob Everett, Stephen Asher, Adia Rose and Elizabeth Quinn. I also like Clein for a boy or a girl double name.
