First, I'll share with you what I'm giving away. FIVE copies EACH of these wonderful new books!

Friendship for Grownups by Lisa Whelchel and Beautiful Things Happen When a Woman Trusts God by Sheila Walsh!
I was contacted to read and giveaway these books, and I have also been offered the opportunity to interview Lisa Whelchel by phone on Thursday! To say I'm honored about this is a severe understatement.
Here's a synopsis of each book:
Beautiful Things Happen When a Woman Trusts God
From successful singer to talk show host to psychiatric patient, and now a Women of Faith speaker appearing in front of more than 400,000 women a year, Sheila Walsh shares her story, and takes readers from fear to freedom in her latest book, Beautiful Things Happen When a Women Trusts God. In it she asks: Do you ever feel that you don’t belong? Do you believe that if people knew all about you they would reject you? Are there parts of your life you have buried deep inside you because you are ashamed of them? Walsh encourages women to walk away from the fears and trials that hold them back in life and to trust that God loves them exactly where they are, and in any circumstance.
Drawing on lessons from the lives of ten Biblical characters, Beautiful Things Happen When a Woman Trusts God is filled with scriptural insights. The book will help women listen carefully--and respond--to the small, still voice that says, just follow me.

Lisa Whelchel is best known for her role as Blair on the hit TV show The Facts of Life. Now she reveals that she didn’t have close friends until her 40’s. In the new book, Friendship for Grown-ups, Lisa offers a backstage view of her messy and truthful journey on the road to healthy, balanced friendships. She shares what she’s learned about a woman’s need for intimate friendships and offers practical steps for authentic friendships. She teaches the signs of a “safe” friend ¾ those interested in receiving AND giving, are not perfect, and don’t try to “fix” you. Lisa also shares four friendship necessities:
· Vulnerability that creates connection
· Being accepted and understood
· Someone who will be honest with you and about you
· Honesty about your feelings about yourself and the relationship, even if it brings about conflict

I was most familiar with Sheila Walsh from her children's series, Gigi: God's Little Princess. I am so excited to read these books to Evy, because I am all about all things princess! :) I am so looking forward to reading this book by Sheila. She has a wonderful reputation as a gifted and very talented writer, speaker, etc. Sometimes I struggle with trusting God, because I like to be in control of what's going on in my life. Spontaneous, carefree, and living-on-the-edge are NOT phrases that would describe me! I'm not controlling to the point that I'm mean or insulting to others, but anytime we feel the need to be totally in control, it shows a trust issue with God. So this will definitely help me in my perspective!
I watched a few reruns of Facts of Life and Blair (played by Lisa Whelchel) was my favorite character! However, I am most familiar with her now because of her writings on parenting and homeschooling (since we've started to think that's the direction we're headed). She is so real and relatable as a woman and mom, and I'm so excited to be able to speak with her. Friendships are sometimes a struggle for me. I am friendly and can usually meet people easily, and I can usually find some common topic to talk about, but I only have very few deep friendships. I'm okay with that, but I need to hear a word from God (given through Lisa) on this topic. I have a feeling it will really speak to my heart.
I'm going to use Kelly's idea: If there's something you'd like to ask Lisa, about her life, books, friendship, parenting, etc., leave me a comment and I'll do my best to ask her! It will also help me collect my thoughts for which questions to ask. :) I'll be talking to her sometime on Thursday (if we can work it out due to me teaching Vacation Bible School), so leave your questions up until then.
I'm opening up this giveaway today! Leave me a comment if you'd like to win either one of these books. I'll draw the winners (10 total) next Tuesday, July 20th.
Thank you to Sheila, Lisa, and their publishing contact person, Jennifer for this opportunity!
