WOW! My little girl is 19 months old today! I know I say it every month, but seriously--it's so crazy to me.
Evy Kate is still hands-down the biggest joy in our lives! Here's what she's up to:
-Evy still goes to bed around 8:30 pm and wakes up around 9:00 am. She sleeps through the night. She takes one 2 hour nap a day (except today, when it was only an hour??).
-She has learned to say "Show!" As in, she wants to watch a DVD. This is so strange to us, because she doesn't watch all that much. All of a sudden, she started flipping through the DVD case saying "A SHOW! A SHOW!" Haha!
-Speaking of, she puts the word "A" in front of everything. "A ball," "A bow," A dog," you get the idea.
-The vocabulary is growing at a rapid pace around here! Evy's new words are "Show," "Evy," "Bitty," "Will," "No," "Go!", "Snack," "Di" (meaning Diaper), "Drink," Juice," "Nana," (meaning her grandmother Nana and also a banana!) "Poppy," "Bible" (can't remember if I added that last month?), "AMEN!" (So cute--she knows to say this anytime someone says, "In Jesus' Name"!)
-She still LOVES baths. Anytime she's just in her diaper she's begging for "Bubbles."
-I got a shirt in mail from my high school alumni director: "Born to be a JA [Jackson Academy] Raider!" Even though it doesn't look like Evy will attend JA, I was happy to have the memory of my times in high school!

-We went to Dr. Hoffman for the first time (he was my pediatrician!), and Evy weighs 26 pounds 8 ounces. She was in the 90th percentile for weight and only 50th for height--haha! Dr. Hoffman said that she can have 2% milk or even a little skim instead of whole milk now. Evs is on a diet! Haha, no....we are thrilled for a healthy baby! :)
-Evy loves to help Mommy. She even does some painting around the house! (Not really, and I was right next to her when we took this!)
-Evy enjoys the preschool area at church, and has done great with that. She really enjoys Wednesday night supper, where she can greet many a Evy Fan. Ha! She loves to run around the fellowship hall after most of the people have cleared out!
-EK wears a size 24 months in clothes. Some 2T outfits fit. I have been buying a LOT of things for Evy's fall wardrobe on ebay lately (it's my best way to get boutique items that are knit/play clothes types), and it's a challenge because I never how an outfit will fit. Baby Lulu and Baby Nay clothes fit small, so she can wear a 2T RIGHT NOW for those brands. Crazy! Other brands, they arrive in mail and the 2T is HUGE. Anyway, we're still figuring out sizing around here! :)
-Evy's favorite books are "The Little House," "The Pudgy Noisy Book," "Jesus Loves Me," "Grandma and Me," "Soft as a Kitten," and "Opposites."
-Evy's hair is still short in the front and long in the back. Or "business in the front, party in the back." Or you could even say a very CUTE version of a mullet? The other day I put it in a ponytail and it was adorable!

-Evy can slide her finger on my iPhone to make it open the menu. It is HILARIOUS! Techie baby!
-She points to her diaper when she's dirty (most of the time) and says "Di Di."
-Washing Bun Bun is an absolute tragedy of epic proportions. Seriously. She saw me put him in the washing machine ONE TIME and was so traumatized, I was shocked. She screamed and was begging me to give him back. But Bun Bun was nasty. I mean, he goes everywhere with us. He is a member of the family. So a bath was mandatory.
After Bun Bun was done in the washing machine, this was the reaction:
Clutching onto that beloved bunny for dear life! It really was the sweetest thing. It reminded me SO MUCH of a song from our dearly loved "Baby Songs" tapes/DVD's. The song is called "Security," and it's the first song on this video. If you have a little one with a lovie, you'll totally love this song! It makes me emotional for some odd reason. :)Happy 19 months, my precious, adorable little girl! Every night when Kurt and I pray with Evy, I just quietly thank the Lord for the highest privilege and calling there is: being Evy's mom!
Mommy loves you, Bitty!
