Room Makeover!

I realized I never showed pictures of a recent project I did! My little sister Andrea wanted a new room to kick off the rest of high school (she's a sophomore). I decided to recruit my other sister Alyssa--she was a huge help! We decided to do it while Andrea was on a mission trip to Chicago, because I love surprising people!

We decided the cheapest way to change the room would be paint. We painted over a dark brown color to a lighter neutral. I did all the cutting in, and my dad did the rolling. Andrea was going to take my old bedroom set, which was kind of a creamy color, but looked peach next to the walls. So we painted the entire bedroom set white! Time consuming, but very doable! Alyssa pushed me to go ahead and paint the whole set. I wasn't sure we get it all done before Andrea got back, but Alyssa convinced me it was all or nothing. I'm so glad we finished!

We got new bedding and accessories from Target, and a few other wall accessories from Hobby Lobby. I forgot to take a before picture (uugghh!), but here's the after:

Andrea already had the Audrey Hepburn poster, so we built the entire room around that. My poor dad had to hang the wall letters--it takes a LOT of talent to get 6 letters straight without a laser level (we didn't have one)!

We hadn't finished painting the knobs to the furniture yet. We ended up painting them black, and it's a great contrast to the white furniture!

Now for the surprise! I went over to Mom and Dad's around midnight because Andrea was getting in so late from the mission trip. But I couldn't miss the surprise! And it was totally worth it:

Punky had told me she wanted a calm, neutral, elegant room. I think we did it, and for not much money! :)

We love you, Punks!
