Happy 30th Anniversary!

On August 1, 1981, my parents were married at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They were married by both of their fathers (who both, 26 years later, married me and Kurt!), and my mom wore her mother's wedding dress. It was a beautiful ceremony (we actually have it on video!) with many meaningful things said.

I'm sure my parents couldn't have imagined all that God had in store for them. Today, 30 years, 6 out-of-state moves, 4 children, and 1 (almost 2!) grandchildren later, we are celebrating how faithful God has been and how special my parents are. We all took them out to lunch today, and I gave them an album filled with notes from people who have known them over the years. I compiled the notes via email and Facebook (thank you, technology!), and put them into an album that I had engraved. It was so encouraging for ME to read what people said about my parents. They complemented them for what my siblings and I have witnessed every single day: their faithfulness to God, each other, their family, and the church. I can only hope those things are said of me and Kurt as we grow in our marriage.

Mom and Dad, we all love you more than you know! It's a privilege to call you my parents!
