Beautiful Boy - I'll have to look up the artist, I can't remember offhand! It's by John Lennon, and I love that it had an Asian influence (likely because of Yoko Ono.)
For Such a Time as This - Wayne Watson (This is from years and years ago. I used to listen to it in my dad's car on the way to school a lot, and I'm so glad I remembered it.)
Bless Your Name Forevermore - Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir (Our choir sang this and I instantly knew I wanted to use it. I generally love the Brooklyn Tab and their style.)
Thanks Be To Our God - Travis Cottrell (This is from his newest album, and we sang it with him as our closing song when he did a concert at our church. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place. Probably one of the most worshipful songs I've ever heard, and our ultimate emotion with this adoption has been gratitude to God.)
I'm a big music person, and I spent a long, LONG time figuring out the perfect songs to use. This sounds bad, but I didn't want the typical, cliched songs used in adoption videos. I wanted it to reflect us and our attitudes toward this journey. Please feel free to share our video so that more people can understand what a blessing adoption is!
We're gearing up for Christmas, and I think I'm turning a corner with this sickness I've had for over a week. This week has actually been very low-key and just what we needed. I'm making notes of some changes I want to make next year in our schedule. I don't necessarily have regrets, but this year has been MUCH too frenzied for my taste. I think my body literally gave out, and I've learned my lesson. :) These last few days have been good for me, because I've been able to really dwell in the Christmas season. I hope everyone is getting ready for a wonderful Christmas weekend!
