Ye Olde Madrigal Feaste!

Earlier this month, I went with several friends to one of the local high school's Madrigal Feast! Several months ago, my friend Whitney and I decided we should go to a Madrigal Feast because we're OBSESSED with English history, especially the Tudor period.  You can see why we're friends - what 26-year-olds are this fascinated with England in the 1500s??? Well, we are. One of the local high schools is known for their Madrigal event because it's SO well done. In fact, it's so popular that it's hard to even get tickets. Thankfully Whitney had some relatives involved and got us all tickets! Kurt ended up being on call, so he had to miss. :( So that left me with three other couples - haha!! I had a blast, though!

The feast was held in a catering/banquet hall that I've always loved. It's perfect for an event like this!

Jason (Sarah's husband) was our Table Master. He really mastered that role.

And what Madrigal Feast would be complete without a boar's head??? Obviously it wasn't real, but we sure did a double-take!

Here's Ryan (Whitney's husband) getting his fortune read!

The whole show lasted about 3 hours and included singing, dancing, entertainment, and a great meal!

Remember Mr. Dumey, my former choir teacher? Well, he was at the feast and was put into the stocks - what a good sport!

The whole group! From left to right: Nathan and Joanna, Sarah and Jason, me, and Whitney and Ryan! These are some funny, funny people!

I can't wait until next year when Kurt can hopefully come with us. It was such a wonderful evening!
