Tidbits and Blogging Topics

I feel like I say this every time I've posted recently, but I'm sorry for the lack of blogging as of late! SO MUCH has been going on, but I really do want to get back in the swing of things. I miss blogging (and ya'll) too much! Random thoughts for today:

-I am sick with cold/sinus yuck. I have spent almost the whole day on the couch (well, once Kurt got home around 2:30). My head just feels like it weighs 30 pounds. However, I've taken some medicine and am feeling a bit better.

-My best friends Carrie and Sarah Denley were here this weekend (along with baby Jude)!!! It was SO MUCH FUN. They might have been bored since I live in a small town and there's not much to do, but we talked hours upon hours which was so good for my soul. They really are kindred spirits. We covered every topic from blogging to parenting to spaghetti sauce. Not even kidding. They were kind of like celebrities at my church because some people who read my blog read theirs and recognized them--ha! They also got to meet Kristal, which was fun. The girls left today and arrived home safely. I loved having them here in my hometown and I miss them so much already. Thankfully I'll see them in March! I'll post more about our special weekend soon!

-Many people have asked where I got Evy's Disney wardrobe. My SWEET mother in law made Evy her two minky rompers (the red and black ones). The other two outfits came from Etsy. The monogrammed shirt came from HERE and the pink pillowcase dress came from HERE (she's currently on vacation).

A lot of people have asked me where they can get cute Disney outfits for boys. Search Etsy for "Disney boy clothes" (and variations of that) and you'll find many cute options! Also search "Disney boy Jon Jon" and be prepared to click "Add to Cart"--ha!

-I cannot believe that it's FEBRUARY tomorrow! My little girl will turn two in 9 days!

-I've read the Bachelor spoilers. I guess that's about all I can say about that. Oh, and I'm really happy the Duggar family is back for their new season! Love them to pieces.

-I am trying to keep upcoming blog post topics in my head, because I really am going to post more often. I had someone ask me to do a post about photography, which I'll be happy to do. I'll also show how my mantle, etc. looks now since Christmas is over but it's still winter. I do want to know--what topics would you be interested in? What would you find interesting? My friends and I were talking about this over the weekend and I noted that I really do blog for myself above everything else (just to document, scrapbook, journal, etc.) but I also love when a blogger asks for topic ideas. So I'm doing it! What would you be interested to see on my blog?

I think that's about it for now. If I'm up to it, I should have the last round of Disney pictures edited and uploaded tonight, so those will be coming soon.

Have a great evening!

Little April Showers : Disney Day Three

Our third day at Disney started out RAINY!!!! It was a downpour. Because of transportation hold-ups, the rain, and sleeping in, we got to our lunch restaurant an hour late! However, they got us in with no problem. We ate at the 50s Prime Time, which is one of my favorites, because of the awesome theming. Love it!

Eating at the Prime Time!

It's decorated PERFECTLY. It's like you're back in the 50s! They have clips of old shows playing, like the Mickey Mouse Club.

My sis in law, Ashley, was asked by our waitress to help sing Happy Birthday to someone. It was hilarious!

Evy and Daddy shared a milkshake!

The rain started to taper off, and we went to browse "One Man's Dream," an exhibit about Disney's life and how this whole empire was built from the ground up.

Evy loved the huge castle graphic, which was drawn when the Disney team was planning Disneyland.

Mouseketeer Memoribilia:

The Audio Animatronic figure of Abe Lincoln:

Evy found this life size Mickey and had a fit!

A model of the ride "Peter Pan's Flight":

A model of Walt Disney's office. I tend to always look at this for a very long time.

On the Great Movie Ride, we saw Mary Poppins:

Tarzan and Jane:

Casablanca:

And the Wizard of Oz!

We saw the Beauty and the Beast show, which is one of my VERY favorites!

We had dinner at the Brown Derby, which Kurt and I love!

The original Cobb Salad. I LOVE IT and have it everytime. I crave it.

The whole fam!

Impromptu dance party outside of Playhouse Disney:

An original concept drawing for Snow White:

Disney Oscars:

Evy appreciates fine art. :)

What a fun, memorable day!

Sanctity of Life

Sanctity of Life Sunday was this previous Sunday. I'm too passionate about protecting the lives of the unborn to not commemorate this event and to share where my heart is on it.

First of all, this blog is a safe place. It needs to be a place of ministry. A couple of days ago, I came across this radio/podcast on a blog I read. It's one couple's story of how they have found forgiveness, hope, and freedom in Jesus Christ after the guilt and pain of having an abortion. It's a wonderful, uplifting story that I encourage EVERYONE to listen to, regardless of your position on this, or whether or not you've experienced this pain.

A group of women are about to start a teen pregnancy/mom Bible study and ministry here at our local high school. I'm praying about how I need to be involved with this. If I can encourage just one girl to save her baby's life, perhaps choose adoption, or encourage those girls who are keeping their babies to raise them in the godly shelter of a church community, and in the way of the Lord.

I've always been passionate about this issue, but now that we're adopting a child, I'm even MORE eager to tell these sweet girls/women, who are carrying a precious life, that there are countless couples that ache for a baby to love and cherish. I'm personally friends with an amazing, godly, loving, fun couple who are still praying for God to bring a child into their lives.

I don't often say things this direct on my blog, but when I feel led to write something, I do. If you are in the position of an unwanted pregnancy and are considering ending that pregnancy and life, contact me immediately. You have other options! If you are struggling with the pain and guilt of having a past abortion, email me. It's a safe place, without judgment. God wants to bring you peace and healing.

As we think about the sanctity of life, know that this isn't a political statement I'm making. This is the fundamental belief that I have that God individually knits us together in our mother's wombs, and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made! We are His masterpieces! Every life is a treasure to our God.

I hope this post has touched at least one person, or at least reminded those of you who read that we need to be incredibly sensitive, forgiving, and loving to girls/women in this situation.

God has a plan for your life and your child's!

 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

A Whole New World: Disney Day Two

We went to Epcot on our second day at Disney World! Evy was excited on the monorail:

At The Seas with Nemo and Friends:

This is the moment---MEETING MICKEY!!!! We also met all of Mickey's pals. This was at the Epcot Character Spot, and Evy had an absolute fit she was so thrilled. These pictures speak for themselves!

We ate lunch at San Angel Inn in the Mexico Pavilion (my dad's favorite Mexican food--missed you, Dad!).

Kurt, his parents, and his older brother Cory:

I love Spaceship Earth, which is the ride that's in the giant Epcot ball. This is my favorite scene, the Renaissance:

Another scene I like---a modern 1960's apartment:

Kurt's older brother Cory and his wife Ashley on Spaceship Earth. They're expecting a little BOY on June 6th! YAY!

Me and Kurt on Spaceship Earth:

At the beginning of SE, they snap your picture to use in a little thing at the end. Kurt now loves to make faces everytime we go on the ride. I give you this picture:

We went back to the hotel to change clothes and recharge before the evening. Some pretty details in our hotel:

Mia was playing with Josh and Evy:

Evy was absolutely beside herself as we started talking about meeting the princesses. I'm really serious, she was just overwhelmed:

A view of our hotel on the way to the monorail station:

We met all of the princesses at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion.

BELLE!!! I brought Evy's little dolls along as an ice breaker with each Princess and it worked great!

We LOVE this Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). Kurt and I saw her when we ate at the Castle in October. She is SO, so sweet. She was at another table, and Evy screamed "BOOTY!!!!" She turned and smiled--I could tell she thought it was cute (which it was!!).

Love this:

Showing 'Rella her matching doll:

We also knew Ariel from last October. She acts JUST like Ariel and is so cute!

"Poppins" was the last to visit our table.

Evy was interested in her gloves.

After the Princesses had all come to our table, Evy was just still overwhelmed from the experience. So overwhelmed that it affected her behavior--haha! She was just wild. Not in a disobedient way--she was just wild! Haha! I actually had to take her out of the restaurant (which I've never had to do) and walk her around in her stroller to let her decompress. Haha! Meeting the Princesses was just totally life-altering I suppose. :)

We decided to go back to Magic Kingdom because Magic Hours were about to start (the park stays open late just for Disney Resort guests). I always tried to end at Magic Kingdom for Evy because she loved it so much. While we waited for the monorail, I got Evy tickled:

We went back to Magic Kingdom and rode Small World as well as Dumbo again.

I rode Cinderella Carousel with my little girl and had the best time. I breathed in every minute! I hadn't ridden it in years and it was perfect to ride with Evy.

We were so thankful for another wonderful day!
