Goals

I don't make resolutions in the traditional sense. I'm just not super serious about it! At the start of each new year, I usually do try to think through some changes that can be made or things I would like to accomplish. So here's my list for this year:

-I absolutely need to be more consistent in my time with the Lord. I LOVE my Beth Moore studies that I do, and I'm always so grateful when I've sat down to do them. I just struggle with the discipline of making it happen. It's nothing but my own complacency. I'm really doing to prioritize this and not allow the enemy to win on this one.

-In a perfect world, I'd make some big fitness goal and totally blow it out of the water this year. But I'm realistic, and I know this won't happen. I just know myself. However, I would like to be more aware of the choices I'm making and just try to do better overall. This is one area where I severely struggle and I'm not going to set major goals. It only leads to disappointment and a sense of failure (trust me, I know). I've often thought that I would do well having a treadmill at home. I personally don't feel comfortable putting my kids in the gym childcare (I know they're fabulous, licensed and totally trustworthy, but I just don't know them personally and I would be a wreck all through my workouts), and knowing I could exercise without leaving the house would be great. Something to think about!

-I'm still piecing together our photos from the two hard drive crashes we had in recent months. Thankfully I'm now using Sugar Sync (online storage), which gives me peace of mind. Also, Kurt bought me a MacBook for Christmas! Macs are just more reliable in that area. Once I get everything re-organized, I need to make our 2011 family photo book. If I somehow get that done, I'd still like to go back and tweak our 2009 book and try and tackle our first year of marriage photo book at some point. But the 2011 book is the most important.

-I've recently discovered the Nest Effect and I am IN LOVE. There are millions of practical ways to get organized. Again, I'm being realistic and I'm not putting enormous pressure on myself. But I would like to tackle little projects here and there!

-I'd like to go through and really clean out closets, extra toys, etc. Another thing I've started and will continue to do is go through baby clothes and only keep the things that I feel really attached to. I feel like if I stay on top of this task, I won't end up with enormous amounts of things that need to be gone through.

I think that's about it! Nothing too major. Hopefully these are things that I can do in small pieces and I'll accomplish some things this year. :)
