Our Wedding

Our wedding was perfect! We were originally going to get married in December of 2007, but due to Kurt's schedule (and wanting to get married sooner!), we moved it up to June 2007. It was held at the church my dad was currently pastoring (we were there 10 years) in Mississippi.

I'll explain as we go!

Here are some bridal portraits. They were taken at the home of some good family friends of ours. My gown was a Reem Acra. I loved it! It was my only chance to ever wear a true ballgown, and I loved wearing one!

This is in my Dad's office. :)

Here's my whole family. This was the Christmas card for 2007.

Here's Kurt's family!

Me with my beautiful Mom :)

I love this.

We had the honor and privilege to have my father and both of my grandfathers perform our wedding ceremony. It literally was the highlight of my entire wedding experience. (My dad and his dad look so alike in this picture--Dah's the one with white hair.)

This was our Christmas card picture for 2007!

I wanted the platform to look like a garden. It was gorgeous. They dimmed the lights in the church so it looked really special.

I designed and made our programs using Microsoft Word! 400 programs cost me 80 bucks, folks.

My wonderful bridesmaids! They wore Bill Levkoff dresses in European Gray (see, I was obsessed with the color gray then, too!).

I really like this shot of me and my Dad.

Wow, it was such a surreal moment! Dad and I cried all the way down the aisle. And we walked too fast. Haha! I walked down to "Processional" from the movie The Sound of Music.

Here's a video of the song if you want to hear it--it starts at the 2 minute mark and goes for a little while. Obviously, I didn't have "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria" played in the middle, though! :)

We had three songs sung at our wedding.

"All I Ask of You" from Phantom of the Opera (a nod to my love of the theater and my time in London).

"We'll Walk With God" from the movie The Student Prince. It was sung at my parents' wedding, and we changed the words like they did when necessary (just to make it less like a Prince singing it, and more of a couple's prayer). CLICK HERE to hear it sung.

"The Prayer" is just a beautiful classic. It really was wonderful to have these songs sung by Gene Fortenberry and Mary Margaret May. Gene was in choir and praise team with me at church, and Mary Margaret was a vocal performance major at my college.

The kiss! Also, something I did that was a little different was having our attendants stand in the choir loft area, rather than down in front as usual. I loved it because they were surrounding us and it was a unique look!

Entering the reception--this shows the back of my dress.

I love this because you can see my dad in the background :)

Happy and married!

Off to our honeymoon!

And they are living happily ever after!
